Edda Óskarsdóttir
Edda is an associate professor at the University of Iceland, School of Education. The courses she teaches are all focused on inclusive education and pedagogy. She also supervise master level students writing their thesis. Her main research interests are teacher education, practioner research, working with diverse students in schools. In her previous career she was a special needs teacher and a coordinator for support at a compulsory school near Reykjavik with around 500 students.
How can we prepare our teachers to provide equal access for all learners to quality mathematics education?
Ensuring equal access for all learners to quality mathematics education is a tall order and involves many different factors. In my presentation I will discuss what is needed in teacher education to prepare our teachers to be able to work with diverse groups of students in an inclusive education environment.
